Market Maker System

The Market Maker (MM) is a key player in the Most Bridge design. They facilitate the quick transfer of assets between chains by providing liquidity and handling the cross-chain transactions.

Role of the Market Maker

  1. Order Fulfillment: When you initiate a bridge transaction, the MM sees this order and fulfills it on the destination chain.

  2. Liquidity Provision: MMs use their own funds to send assets to you on the destination chain, allowing for near-instant transfers.

  3. Proof Submission: After fulfilling an order, the MM submits the proof using HDP to the source chain.

  4. Fee Collection: In return for their service, MMs collect the fee you pay when initiating a bridge transaction.

Benefits of the Market Maker System

  • Speed: Allows for quick transfers without waiting for long confirmation times.

  • Efficiency: MMs can batch transactions and optimize for gas fees, potentially reducing costs.
